ORGANIZATION OF THE
XENIA TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Xenia Township Fire Department is a combination staffed full-service emergency service agency with the primary protection areas being Xenia Township and Caesarscreek Township, with mutual aid agreements with all surrounding departments.  Our response area covers approximately 75 square miles with a resident population of nearly 10,000 persons, plus daily transients, visitors and workers.

XTFD utilizes the talents and abilities of 50 personnel (combination of full-time, part-time and volunteer) to provide these services. Personnel are based in 2 fire stations housing 12 pieces of emergency  apparatus.

XTFD provides fire protection services including firefighting, fire inspections, public safety education, and special rescue including automobile crash extrication.

Emergency medical services are also a major part of the department workload. XTFD has nearly 40 personnel cross trained as EMTs and paramedics. They provide complete advanced cardiac life support care using state of the art technology, plus XTFD medics provide care for victims of trauma, illness, and injuries.

The XTFD Technical Rescue Team is comprised of a dozen members who have special training and skills for rope rescue and rappelling, below grade trench rescue and confined space rescue situations.
